Like many other countries in the Caribbean, St. Kitts-Nevis is vulnerable to several hazards including earthquakes and tsunamis. In keeping with this reality, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has over the years been undertaking several preparedness activities, especially public service announcements and the distribution of related literature. Recently, Tsunami Evacuation Maps for St. Kitts and Nevis were received, as part of a Tsunami Ready Recognition Pilot Project. Among other information, the maps indicate in yellow, the areas on both islands that can be impacted by a tsunami. As part of the agency’s public education and awareness outreach programme the maps can be viewed and downloaded by residents and visitors, by clicking on the following links: Tsunami Evacuation Map, St. Kitts, Tsunami Evacuation Map, Nevis.
